The Book of Unknown Americans is an affecting story about what it means to be an American told by the Rivera family, the Toro family, and excerpts from "unknown" Latinx men and women and their stories of how they came to be Americans.

The Rivera family come to the United States from Panema with their beautiful daughter, Maribel, who becomes brain damaged due to an unfortunate accident. 15 year old Mayor Toro feels instantly protective of the beautiful girl, and falls in love with Maribel.

As this is a coming of age story, teens as well as adults could read and access this story.

Recommendation: Read it.

Audience: Millenials and up (...but could be suitable for young adults.)
