This book was amazing. What a story.

And what a time to read this story...as a new wave of terrorist attacks have sprung up in my home state of New Jersey.

Malala is so brave and so wise...I often had to remind myself that this is a young girl.

The book starts with Malala painting readers a portrait of her young life in Pakistan. Her activism got it's start early in trying to go to school - a thing that children around the world take for granted. She spoke of the determination of her father to open a school dedicated to teaching boys and girls - and how this act made her and her father a target of the Taliban. She shows the progression of oppression at the hands of the Taliban, and reminds us why we continue to fight violent organizations like this one.

This is a very moving story about young girl's desire to learn. Ms. Yousafzai has earned the Nobel Peace prize, and after reading this book, you'll totally understand why.

Recommendation: Required! You've got to read it!
